Baby's first hair cut

About a month ago I was in helping Bob cut his hair and I dropped the clippers on the hard tile floor.  They did not work so good after.  Today we went and we got some new clippers. We were in a hurry because the kids were already tired and screaming (ok maybe that was just Dan).  We grabbed the cheapest clippers we could find.  Bad idea.  We got through Dan's haircut ok, Ian's was a little harder, and then they stopped working with Ben's.  Anyway, they did not come with as many attachments as the other ones we had, so our options were limited.  Bob grabbed the attachment that would cut the hair the longest and it was still REALLY short.  He started to cut Dan's hair and after one swipe we realized it was going to be way too short.  We could not do anything after that.  We had to finish.  We are having regrets.  We wanted Dan's hair to stay longer but now he is bald (almost).
The hair adds to his personality.  We love his long hair but it needed a little trim because it was everywhere.  Unfortunately, he would not hold still for scissors and that is why we used the clippers.
I would be crying too.  He was not happy while he was getting his hair cut.
We are regretting the hair cut big time.

Turning 6, 4, and 1.

We have a lot of birthdays at our house between Feb. 21 and March 30.  We like to get them all done at once.  No point in spreading them out.

This year Ben turned 6.  I can't believe it.  When he was born he had a head full of hair, so much so he had side burns.  It was great.  Ben is such a kind, funny, energetic, thoughtful boy.  He is such a great helper and he is very close to his brother.  He started school this  year and I can't believe how much he has matured.  I am pretty sure he will do great things with himself someday.  He has the world figured out you know.

My boys love legos.  Ben is old enough now that he can build things by looking at the directions.  This is how I find him most of the time.
Something cool about Ben's birthday is that he shares it with me.  On my 22nd birthday I gave birth to Ben on the 22nd of March.  I told Robert that I wanted something special for my Golden Birthday.  Never thought in a million years that I would have a baby, especially since he was 3 weeks early.

Ian turned 4 this year.  When he was born he was as bald as could be.  It was such a contrast when compared to his brother. Ian is our sensitive boy.  He gets his feelings hurt easily and he cries very easily.  However, Ian is the first one to give you a hug and tell you he loves you.  He is very compassionate especially towards someone who is hurt.  (unless he is the one who did the hurting)  I think one day I made the mistake of praying for patience because the Lord gave me Ian.  He requires a lot of patience but we love him so much.

Ian never hesitates to give me a smile.  That boys loves to get his picture taken.
Here is a picture of the two of them together.  I swear that these two are the twins that never were.  They are the same size, they understand each other without saying anything, and they look out for each other.

And then there is Mr Dan.  He was the last one to have a birthday on the 30th of March.  When Dan was born we were so relieved that everything was ok.  There was a chance that he would be born with Downs Syndrome because of some things that showed up on the ultrasound.  We were prepared to have this special spirit in our lives but we were very relieved when he was ok.  Dan brings all who meet him a lot of joy.  He oozes happiness.  Dan is, by far, our most relaxed, easy going kid.  He is always making us laugh.  He gets into everything and he has his brothers figured out.  He can get pretty much anything he wants out of them.  Dan is a man of few words but we always seem to know what he wants or needs.

He thought these glasses were the best thing ever.

I started a blog

YAY for me, I started a blog. I thought it would be fun to start one up as a way to keep in touch with friends and family. I still don't have any idea what I am doing and I am sure it will take me time to figure it all out. Just bear with me and the more I figure it out the more I will post. I still have no idea how to post pictures and do all that great stuff but I am sure I will figure it out. Thanks for coming for a visit and keep checking back.
